As long as I can remember, starting as a young child I have been gardening and tending to plants. My hobby of caring for plants turned into a passion and grew stronger as I became an adult. I received my Associates Degree in Urban Horticulture and completed the Desert Landscaper Certification School at the Desert Botanical Gardens. I've worked in places like the San Diego Zoo's Botanical Gardens and 5 star Hotels all over the West Coast caring for their tropical plants.
During that time, I taught myself through creativity and design how to build impressive living vertical greenwalls. One of my designs won a Plantscape Industry Alliance Award (PIA), which is the Hall of Fame and Awards Celebration for the Plantscaping Industry. I never lost my passion for vegetable gardening and somehow managed to maintain an incredible backyard garden while balancing a very high demand full time job and raising 2 kids. I also volunteered in the gardens at my daughters'; schools throughout the years.
After relocating back to Phoenix in 2012, I became more interested in working in the field of what I went to school for, Desert Landscape Design and Urban Farming. I started my own business building vertical greenwalls, and garden consulting to build a foundation for my daughters. I have worked at other local farms and nurseries in the Phoenix area and have gained extensive knowledge about plant identification, soils, fertilizers, organic gardening, composting, propagation, hydroponic growing, building raised beds, irrigation, of course Urban Farming, and Retail Nursery Management.
